Japan in my heart

Back at the desk

Just returned from the EU Gateway fair in Tokyo, Japan. Still drowned in jetlag. And filled with
amazingly good experiences. Thank you so much, Japan :-)

I got to see part of the country which has been my dream since I was here last time 1 year ago.
Riding the train I still find the landscape among the most breathtaking sights in the world, and you never quite finish looking at God's little wonders...

I am definitely coming back!

I had a wonderful time with my 'collegue'-exhibitors, seeing Tokyo by night with bonus VIP sighting at Park Hyatt Tokyo: Lionel Richie. Of all people..Still looked...well, like himself 20 years ago. Amazing, how some people seem to just never get any older :-)


Apart from massive inspiration, good company, and the almost blossoming cherry trees ripe with plush pink flowers, I have had the luck of meeting very interesting visitors from very big department stores in Japan. I want to thank all of You for your visit at my stand, and hope to see You or Your buyers again.




Fabric Copenhagen also had the good fortune of getting 2 (two!) new agents this March:
Tokyo based Atsushi Hushi at Nord Mainos Corporation, and Oslo (Norway) based Cecilie Braathen, www.boligideer.no. I want to thank you both for joining our company and wish you the best of seasons!

(Tōkyō koko ni watashi wa kuru - Tokyo, here I come!) 

I have started working on my website. It has served me well for a number of years now, but those who change with the times, develops. And so must I.

Therefore the new site will be offering a webshop element for all of you both in Denmark and abroad who write me so often regarding my outlets (only in the Copenhagen area), and where to buy in a city near you. 

Consider it taken into action! Shortly, no date yet, I will launch the site, and you'll be the first to know... 

In the meantime, please write me: info@fabriccopenhagen.dk if you cannnot resist the crisp, new colours and soft designs. I will arrange for a shipment right away.

This is my very romatic view as I work with my collegues on the website.

                         

Tokyo. Fantastic, inspiring, crowded. It's been a year and a half since I was there the last time. 

In a few weeks I will be there again - in time to see the cherry trees to blossom. One of the most awesome sights in the world, if you ask me. 

I will try to go to the contryside this time - it is a world of its own and so very different from what I am used to.

 

The reason for travelling halfway around the world is not the pretty flowers, though. I was actually invited this time. Or chosen, I should say, between designers from all over Europe, to show my collection at the EU Gateway fair. 44 traders, 3 from Denmark, including Fabric Copenhagen!

The fair is a trade fair showing EU based designs in Japan and vice versa. Very interesting - and I especially look forward to meeting my Japanese customers.

Finally, we have the last outlet sale in March this Saturday, at our company address: Lindegaardsvej 14, back premises, 2920 Charlottenlund. We will be there from 12 PM till 2 PM. 

With this I will take Winston for a spring ride. He is finally all mine.

This week we had the great joy of a 'visit' from Dutch blogger, House of Hubner.  She bought our soft velvet cushions in lavendender/mustard nuances at her fine neighbour, De Blommerie, i Oosterbeck.
Fantastic to see Fabric Copenhagen beyond the Danish borders :-)

At the office I am trying to do Spring cleaning...trying only. I keep getting little notions of Spring from outdoors; an early bird singing to his love, flowers fighting their way up the soil, air feeling crisp and new...aaaahhhh!

So I am filling up racks with new items. The new colours and designs always fills me with happiness and energy.

Below see a selection from my newest collection, including the little dog Minnie, dressed in the exclusive dog jacket - a limited edition of dog accessories we presented in Paris last month.

Time to go outside again... I wish you the best of weeks.

Maison & Object is over - this means Spring is close!

2013 was the year of the Snake representing rebirth and mentally quite exhausting times. (Let me just to mention a few Snake years: 1917 - the Russian Revolution, 1989 - the fall of the Berlin Wall, and 2001 the fall of the World Trade Center.  Need I say more?)

For Fabric Copenhagen, though, 2013 was a year of hard work, goal setting and planning ahead. This will all make sense now that we have entered 2014 and the year of the Horse:

 Winston, the most beautiful horse in my world, and myself...

The year of the Horse symbolizes success and prosperity. Powerful and focused it works its way towards the goal.

Therefore we are confident that 2014 will be a prosperous year for all, and we look forward to find  exiting new ways of creating your favorite home decorations from Fabric Copenhagen!
